Legolas of the Tirol region

On Monday, as we were trying to figure out what we were going to accomplish that day, Dad found out that we could do archery in a nearby village. Everybody was ecstatic to hear about it, because we only get to do archery once a year at the camp we go to every September. So at 1:30, after we had lunch, we all got in the car and drove a few miles over to the village of Vißenbach.

We were the only ones there and we got to do archery for an hour and a half.

The lady who was running it spoke little English and we speak little German so we had to try to communicate as best we could, each using our own little spattering of each other's language.

There were only two targets so we each had to take turns. While waiting for her turn, Abby picked a bunch of the wildflowers which grow all over the mountain side. The lady explained to mom, using her broken English and mom's broken German how they make cough syrup out of the dandelions.

As he often does with archery, Nate made a game out of it that we were archers shooting at wargs. If you hit the top half of the target you kill the rider and if you hit the bottom you kill the warg. Nate told me to mention that hitting the bullseye means you hit the warg's face and it goes through to the orc's belly. Obviously none of us like Lord of the Rings in this family.

Toodledo!
