Here's a picture from our plane as we flew over the mainland of Italy on our descent into Rome. It reminded us of a Settlers of Catan board.
We were supposed to arrive in Rome to a man, holding a sign upon which our last name was written, waiting to shuttle us to our apartment. Instead we saw 50 men with signs, but none of them with our name. After waiting an hour and a half, and panicking in a foreign airport, we decided to take matters into our own hands and book our own transportation.
Finally we arrived at our apartment, dropped our bags, and headed for Ancient Rome. Here are pictures of some of the things we saw.

Does this need an explanation? Oh and yes some of the kids complained of the heat and the walking and being tired. We told them we understood and isn't it nice that they are those things in ROME?!?!

Victor Emmanuel Monument:
Did you know the arc of his (Victor Emmanuel's, that is) mustache is five feet long?
Valete amici!

Lovely! I'll bet Hannah feels like she is in paradise. ;) The family looks pretty good for being so exhausted. Glad you all arrived safely.
